Origin Bank – Our Culture

What does it take to create unique banking
experiences that impact the world around us? It takes the right people, empowered with
the right attitude, the right goals, passion, and experience. And experience takes time. How much? Oh, a century give or take. That’s right, we have been working on this
for a while. In 1912, the Bank of Choudrant went from dream to reality with a land grant from Teddy Roosevelt. Flash-forward 100 years, we changed our name
to Community Trust Bank, continued to grow, realized that we needed a name as original
as we are, and boom, Origin was born. Why that name? We chose Origin to pay tribute to our past,
and mark new beginnings in new markets with a culture that focuses on reimagining, evolving
and innovating from the inside out. Simple right? Just redefining the way we think about banking. Making sure customer expectations are exceeded,
employees love their jobs, shareholder goals are met and our communities know we’re really there for them. Ok, maybe not simple or easy, but we’ve done
it. Here’s how. Customer service isn’t just a department,
it’s an attitude that we all have. Our goal is to create an unrivaled customer
experience, making everyone feel like the only customer every time. It’s the Origin experience. It’s about forming genuine, long term relationships
all of which begin by asking ourselves, “What really matters to our customers? What do they expect from us?” Well, there’s simplicity and consistency,
accuracy, innovation, responsiveness, and clear communication. With confidentiality throughout, of course. Every banking journey should be unique from
opening an account, to processing a loan, to the overall digital experience. While everything we do is transparent, there’s
still room for them to be surprised by many WOW moments. That starts with strong relationships among
us. Employees who, working together, make decisions
that will enrich the lives of the people in our community. So, what makes up an Origin team member? How about being trusted, hard-working, proactive,
innovative, respectful, ethical and community-focused. We look forward to coming to work every day. We’re passionate about the work we do, because
it takes a little fire in your belly to pursue new ways to make banking more rewarding for
our customers. So, we work with great people, do great things
and have a great time doing it. Not bad. It’s incredibly fulfilling to change people’s
lives and make a positive difference in the world, and we’re not just paying lip service
to helping our customers achieve their dreams. Our Dream Manager program empowers each of
us to make personalized action plans to fulfill our own dreams. Naturally, this continual drive to improve
ourselves and those around us help lead Origin to go public, as in Wall Street, Nasdaq. We even got to ring the bell! Why the excitement about being publically
traded? Because committed shareholders can help us
grow and expand to achieve our mission. It’s just another way strong relationships
are helping us thrive. We’ll have greater access to capital for funding
our growth so we can continue to serve and make an impact. We’re confident in our ability to be good
stewards of our shareholders’ investment. They put their faith in us, so we return
the favor and show them how much that means to us. Speaking of appreciation, it all comes back
to the foundation on which all of this is built. We’re only as strong as the communities we
serve. We don’t believe in dropping a bank down from
the sky with no connection to its neighbors. Sure we provide financial support and leadership
to local organizations. Giving is a given. But more than that, we believe in getting
our hands dirty. Project Enrich for example. Our volunteer program allows our employees
up to twenty hours of paid time off each year to make a difference in the community. That’s right. Twenty hours off of work to get out there
and leave a mark. And really, this brings us full circle. Employees, customers, community and shareholders
are the foundation of our mission, and that mission defines who we’ve been, who we are
and who we’ll continue to be. Because creating unique, impactful experiences
is what we do.
